Concrete Pie

Rain? Maybe sorta someday. For now, continuing on the main area and laying foundations for the concrete pour. The pour is split up into multiple sections to account for how much Ernie and Donna are able to do on their own at any one given time.
Getting the Equipment in Order

Ernie displays all of the equipment used for the land project and gives some foreshadowing of projects to come.
Planning a Dome With Modern Comforts

We’ve been busy with activity lately. The weather’s heating up, so there’s extra effort to build a new climate-controlled dome for our batteries, inverters, and water pump station. It’s all part of the plan to have climate control in a dome by June.

The Dome Workshop

With the dome out of the way, onto tackling the first major organization project. Wiping down every piece of equipment, from tools to bubble wrap, and putting it all on newly constructed pegboards made from square tubing. The dome shape makes for a very efficient shop layout when configured.
Making Ready the First Dome

Wrestling the Dome
Welcome back to occupy the land! Construction of the foundation slab is done and now we are moving on to covering it with a large, heavy-duty translucent tarp that will provide ample natural light inside.
Putting it All Together; A Finished Workshop Floor
Ernie and Donna are wrapping up their first dome foundation. After pouring the final concrete section, they’re getting ready to install a protective cover. Thanks to some tips from a friend with engineering experience, they’ll be using machinery to lift and move the dome, making it easier for future workshops and builds.
